"Sallie is brilliant, and patient, and kind. I’m thrilled to have found her."
Rocky Leplin,
ComposerI like computers. I grew up with them, and I get along with them pretty well. I would be lost without mine.
But to me, a computer is a means to an end, not an end in itself. It's there to help you do a better job at something else.
I'm not going to tell you that you have to buy the biggest, the best, and the newest-year after year after year.
Most computers can actually do more than most small businesses need them to, and the same hardware and software will probably do a perfectly good job for about 5 years.
I look at what you need the computer to be able to do, and then find the simplest and most economical way to do it.
I'm not going to laugh at you for not knowing things.
If you knew everything, you wouldn't be hiring me. I don't know everything about computers, either.
What I do know is where to look for answers when I don't already have them.
And when a problem is too complex for me, I will say so and recommend someone who has expertise in areas that I don't.
Helping you with your computer is only one of the services I provide. I'm not a programmer or an engineer. (Whew!) But I can do a lot of things to make technology work for you, including:
Creating and maintaining a simple, attractive website, including finding a web host and registering a domain name-inexpensively.
Comparing prices and features for products you are thinking about buying, and make recommendations.
Cleaning up and organizing your programs and data so you can find what you need when you need it.
Establishing a regular routine of backups to protect you against the dreaded disk crash—or restore your programs and data after it's already happened.
Making your e-mail manageable.
Troubleshooting the usual Mac & Windows irritations.
Connecting and install your new hardware and software.
Helping you to clean out and get rid of your old computer.
Finding the right hardware and software to do the job you need done.
“Really pleased with your follow-up: both speedy and focused. I’ve finally found my CIO.”
